Oh deer...

Last night, mom, Heidi (the dog) and I went to pick up dad’s truck (which was in the shop for a recall). On the way, a car passed on my left, so I turned off my bright lights. When I turned them back on, a deer ran right in front of me. There wasn’t anything I could do; I’m sure I hit the brakes (but I don’t remember) but we were just too close and I hit him. : (
When we turned around, the poor deer was lying in the grass at the side of the road. He was still alive, but obviously badly hurt because he couldn’t stand up. There was a bar across the street & some of the guys came out and put the deer out of his misery. I felt so bad & spent most of the evening in tears.
My car didn’t get banged up too badly, but since it has no value according to Kelly Blue Book, it’s probably on it’s way to the great junkyard in the sky.
I’m so thankful that mom, Heidi, & I weren’t injured...
I’m told that Pennsylvania has more accidents involving deer than any other state (which doesn’t make me feel much better).
I just hope that we never have this type of experience again.

Oh my goodness, Kim.  I am so glad that it wasn’t more serious... Did this accident happen on your birthday??
Oh boy.
Well, Happy Belated Birthday -- - it sounds like it was very eventful!

Thank you Lord for protecting Kim, her Mom and their special pet, Heidi.  Please don’t feel bad about the deer, Kim.  I’m just so glad you and your Mom are ok.  You really have had a rough week, but I think you have passed all the tests.  Stay strong; better days are ahead.

Hey there ladies.
The accident was the night before my birthday, Heidi. I had an ok birthday; mom and Anthony took me to Carrabbas for dinner (which is always delicious), but we all really missed dad.
We had a nice weekend, though. Anthony and I took Heidi out to Hickory Run State Park yesterday. It was really beautiful up there and we enjoyed hiking amongst the fall foliage. : )
Love you both!
