Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a safe, enjoyable holiday season. We started our celebration on December 23rd with a trip to Lancaster to see The Miracle of Christmas at Sight and Sound Theater. It was a really unique experience; the stage wraps around the theater, the action takes place in the aisles as well as on the stage, and there are lots of live animals. The story began with the betrothal of Mary and Joseph and progressed to the birth of Jesus. It ended with a very emotional allusion to the cross. It was a great experience; if you ever have the opportunity, I would definitely recommend checking it out.
I don’t want to dwell on the sad moments of the season, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how sad Christmas at the Allen house was without my dad this year. I wish I could tell him how much we all miss him.
Unfortunately, Travis and Megan weren’t able to come home to celebrate with us this year. Anthony and I had a nice turkey dinner with my mom on Christmas eve & then went to Faith Church for the evening service. Afterwards, we watched "The Majestic," which is an awesome movie.
We spent Christmas day with my mom, then went to Mom and Dad DiSante’s house on Christmas night. It was really great to hang out with all the DiSantes, as usual. : ) Unfortunately, I had to work the day after Christmas, so we went to bed relatively early.
On the Wednesday after Christmas, we met Nikki, Jess, and Terry for lunch before Jess and Terry went back to NC. : ) It was so nice to see old friends, even though it was a short visit. I wish I’d have gotten a photo of all of us together.
It was a busy week at work, and I was very happy to see Friday come. On New Years Eve, Anthony and I had a romantic dinner at Carrabbas. I worked on New Years day, so we didn’t do too much else.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that 2007 got off on the right foot! : )

Man, I was thinking of bringing my camera to lunch that day but felt kinda dorky. And I hadn’t charged my batteries.  Anyway, I’m sorry it was short, and I’m going to make sure everyone that’s in my phone is in Terry’s and visa versus.

Anyway, I was thinking of coming up north in the middle of June when my mom ends her last year of teaching.  I think it might be nice.  Plus there’s some of her materials that I might be able to use and won’t know unless I go up there to get them.  I may not bring Terry...not sure yet.

Oh, our New Year’s was spent apart this year.  He was working on his relationship with his dad and I just watched tv.  But we’ve managed to finally have both our cars working which we haven’t had in over a year....so far that’s a positive change to the previous year.  I’m hoping that means good things are yet to come considering how excited I’ve been today over that Toyota, it can only get better.

I miss you and maybe we’ll have more time during my next visit.  And you can always come down south and get a dose of southern hospitality and see our boardwalk free beaches.

Happy New Year to you too Kim!  Mmmm Carrabbas - - I wish they had one of those in Reading!  :)  There is a lot of building going on in Wyomissing, so we’re hopeful!  :)

It was wonderful having all my children and their wives and husband and our grandkids all together once again.  I am truly blessed.  I know how awfully sad it was at times, Kim.  My heart still breaks for all of you.  I hope being with us helped get you through some of hurting.

Hey ladies!

Jess, I can’t believe you were going to bring your camera; how dorky. : ) I used to take my camera everywhere, but lately it has a hard time focusing and I just can’t get good pictures. I wanted to restart my photo of the day project, but I just get so frustrated with the blurry pictures. I wonder if I can get that problem fixed?
It’d be really nice to see you over the summer. Maybe we’ll have to set up a date before you actually come home. : )

Heidi, we’d love to go to Carrabbas with you and Brian some time. : ) OR if you guys need a date night, Anthony and I could watch the girls. We’re almost on the way! Either way, we hope to see you soon.

Mom2, thanks for your warm words. I know you experienced a lot of the same sadness I did this Christmas & I’m glad that having your kids all together was a comfort. It’s always good for us to visit with you guys, too. : ) We’ll see you soon.
