Emery -- In a Win, Win Situation
comment / @ 12:33pm

This is the final track on the second of two Emery CDs, The Question . Choosing this song was a tough decision for me, as I really love the entire CD.

Lyrics:
I’ve noticed your design ’cause I’m not blind. I’m like a cigarette burning, burning every night. But there’s no ash that falls. There’s only telephone calls in the afternoon, stretching through a thousand walls. So I’ll pray for words to say to make these miles disappear. If you can’t sleep alone, I’m better off.
If we’re measuring with time, in seconds or in lifetimes, there’s no difference, it’s constantly just passing by. There’s nothing at all, not Valium or slow songs to relax my view, just you. Maybe your new perfume. So I’ll pray for words to say to make these miles disappear. If you can’t sleep alone, I’m better off. If you can’t hear the song then turn it off. If you cast the first stone then throw them all. I start to sleep, but it’s not over. The second hand is moving slower now. I’d take it all back to start over again. Just between the rock and paper scissors cut in so much deeper. I’d take it all back to start over again.

The Operation -- This May Not Have Happened
comment / @ 07:48pm

This is the last track on the album There is Hope for a Tree Cut Down. I fell in love with this song while listening to one of Anthony’s mix CDs (I’ve never actually heard the whole album, but I’m anxious to check it out). This song is absolutely beautiful.

Lyrics:
Looking in to the window, the window into my own self. Seeing pale reflections of what I thought was me. Having conversations with myself that never seem to end, I’ll find out why I shouldn’t hold on. Rescue me, kill me. Save me by your flames. Clutching on to my heart, the walls close in. My breath is taken away from me, I am underwater, my eyes are burning but somehow I can breathe again. You’ve given me Your life.

The Juliana Theory -- Into the Dark
comment / @ 07:52pm

This is the first track on the Emotion is Dead CD. Choosing this song was a tough decision for me, as the Juliana Theory has so many great songs (I’ll probably have to post more of them over time). Anyway, I chose "Into The Dark," because the imagery is so moving.  Hope you enjoy it!

Lyrics:

Dad, your boy’s about to fall. He walks the razor’s edge.
He’s on the brink of fading out. He’s at his bitter end.
Dad, your boy who used to run, you taught him how to crawl.
He left home to find his own, now all he had is gone.

In your eyes I see a darkness that torments you and in your head where it dwells. I’d give you my hand if you’d reach out and grab it. Let’s walk away from this hell.

Mom, your baby’s on his way. He’ll soon be at your side.
’Cause he’s forgotten all he’s known. A part of him has died. Mom may never understand why baby’s come and gone.
He left home to find his own, now all he has are lies.

In your eyes I see a darkness that torments you and in your head where it dwells. I’d give you my hand if you’d reach out and grab it. Let’s walk away from this hell.
In your eyes…

In your eyes I see a darkness that torments you and in your head where it dwells. I’d give you my hand if you’d reach out and grab it. Let’s walk away from this hell.
