a born again Christian. This means that I have accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord & Savior of my life. I believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God and that every word on every page is 100% true. I recognize that I am not perfect & my sins separate me from God. It is by the grace of God, through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, that my sins are forgiven. It's not enough to just ask for forgiveness; we must repent & commit our lives to emulating Christ. If you have questions about this, please ask. I'd love to talk to you about it.
a wife. On April 22, 2005, the man of my dreams asked for my hand in marriage. Anthony and I tied the knot on September 24th, 2005 and have enjoyed a wonderful marriage ever since.
a daughter. I was born on October 19th, 1979, the second child of Warner and June Allen. My parents have been two of my best friends for as long as I can remember. No words could ever express the gratitude I feel for all of the love they've shown, all of the lessons they've taught, and all of the time they've invested in my life. I am truly blessed.
a sister. My brother, Travis, is fantastic. He always has the right words to make you laugh, even when you want to cry.
Things I love:
Science. Of course, I don't believe in everything that's taught (i.e. preached) in biology class, but science is really fascinating. The more I learn, the more I believe that our universe must have been created by the Almighty God. There's no way that the intricate systems and processes could have resulted from chaos.
The Beach. I love the cool breeze that blows off of the ocean at dusk, the feel of sand between my toes, & the reflection of the move on the waves.
Jeans, tees, and sneakers. Especially sneakers.
Swimming. I swam competitively from the time I was about 5 until my freshman year of college, when I injured my left shoulder. I miss it terribly; if I could, I'd still swim every day.
Cooking & baking. If you have good recipes, please send them in! : )
Laughing & hearing other people laugh.
Cheese. Behold the power of cheese.
Outdoorsy things: hiking, biking, skiing, running, camping, & kayaking. I'd also like to learn to snowboard, surf, and climb.
Riding shotgun with Anthony.
Dancing. I took ballroom in college & really loved it. "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing..."
Living in a place with four seasons! It's so amazing to see the flowers bloom, the leaves change colors, & the glistening white snow.
