On Sunday evening, Anthony and I returned from visiting with my parents at their condo in Steamboat Springs Colorado. It was a great trip! We spent the first afternoon hiking a trail that runs along Mad Creek. According to my dad, a man lost his horse and nearly drown in the creek a long time ago, so he named it "Mad Creek." From the time we started walking the trail until we reached the end of our hike, nearly all we saw was whitewater, which makes that story seem more legitimate.
The hike itself was beautiful. The trail took us through the mountains a little, in the woods, then out into a clearing where there's an old house that was bought back by the government. There were tons of prarie dogs peeking over the rocks in the clearing (Anthony thinks they took over the old house). : )
There are a lot of sky pictures in this set (and all of my Colorado photos), because it was amazingly blue. A storm rolled in as we were hiking back, so I took some storm cloud pictures as well.
I'll be posting more Colorado photos over the next few days!
