A Night In Warrensburg
| replyAnthony & I broke up the trip to Vermont by stopping for a night in Warrensburg, NY for the night. It was just over halfway to our Jay Peak & I was interested in visiting the area because my parents lived there before I was born. Warrensburg is about five miles from Lake George & is sometimes referred to as the gateway to the Adirondack Mountains. Of course, our visit was very brief, but we enjoyed taking photos of Lake George at night and I would definitely like to visit there in the summer.
While in Warrensburg, we stayed at Seasons Bed and Breakfast. This was only our second Bed and Breakfast experience.
This is a photo of the Inn that Anthony edited using tone mapping. It’s a beautiful place with lots of character!
The Inn Keeper, Eileen, was extremely friendly and hospitable. On Sunday morning, she made us a wonderful breakfast that consisted of blueberry scones, fresh fruit, and a vegetable frittata. I didn’t try the frittata, but the blueberry scones were amazing and the fresh fruit was perfect.
When we got back to Pennsylvania, I immediately started looking for scone recipes and found this recipe (Created by Tyler Florence of the Food Network). They came out pretty similar to those provided by our host in Warrensburg (without the lemon glaze, which I chose to omit). A quick glance at the ingredients is all you need to realize that these should be enjoyed sparingly, but I’m very pleased to add them to my recipe collection.
Is it time for another vacation yet?
