Sinus surgery

reply

After several very nervous months, I finally had my sinus surgery yesterday. I’m thankful that things went smoothly & that there weren’t any complications. I’m also very grateful for my awesome mom, who has been taking really good care of me & the prayers and support from friends and family.

Last night was one of the most painful nights I can remember; I was groggy from the anesthesia, but couldn’t breathe through my nose because of the post-surgical packing. The result was an extremely dry, irritated throat (which was even worse because I had a breathing tube for the procedure). I was so thirsty that I woke up about every half hour and drank four 20oz water bottles over night. My nose & sinuses were on fire most of the night & my neck was really sore from having to sleep with my head propped up to prevent swelling. Thankfully, I had my nasal packing removed this afternoon & I feel that I’ll be able to get some rest.

I’m looking forward to getting better & having fewer infections in the future. : )
